February 7, 2010 ENG 101 BLOG
This week in class we went over a story dealing with Multicuturalism in Business. The story dealt with how things are much more casual and laid back in the United States. When you compare the United States you see that we are more out spoken than other countries. And that we get more of a chance to say what we believe. For example in some countries you are not allowed to speak out in a classroom. You are expected to listen to the teacher, and not raise your hand. You are to not challenge the teacher in these countries. But in the United States you are awarded and expected to raise your hand and to be outspoken in a classroom. You are allowed to discuss your personal opinions and allowed to challenge the teacher or professor. Another example of comparing countries is the way of discussing religion. In the United States it is not connsidered customary to discuss your religion with your friends and family. It is considered unruly. In other countries though you are expected to discuss your overall religion opinions and your religion schedule. Olivia and myself were told to post a question about the article. My question reguarded advertising, and how a person has been affected by advertising.
